Instrumental Case of Nouns: With or Without С
Two decisions in every sentence: which ending the word needs, and whether с belongs in front of it. English gives you with for both, so this is the one place Russian asks you to think about something your own language never made you notice.

Put the word in brackets into the instrumental case — and decide whether the sentence needs the preposition с in front of it. Someone or something that comes along takes с. Something you use does not. Watch the number: if the word in brackets is plural, your answer must be plural too.
